Winter HSKI Academy Program for children aged 4-14
Course description and details
- The Academy runs every day of the week from December to March (depending on weather conditions)
- In January during winter holidays for the Małopolskie Voivodeship, there is an additional option to enroll in the Penguin Club
- At the end of the course, we organize a monthly skills recap — mini competitions qualifying for the main HSKI Academy competition
- At the end of the Winter HSKI Academy, a grand competition with prizes is held

Academy Organization
Training takes place in groups divided by age and skill level.
- Beginner groups – kids parks, green and blue slopes
- Intermediate groups – red slopes, short stubbies
- Advanced groups – black slopes, gate training
- The program is led by the top ski school in Poland, winners of the Polish Instructors Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019
Groups have a maximum of 8 participants.
Academy Points
Classes follow an innovative training curriculum designed for children.
During the course, children earn Academy points designating their current level, which helps outline their ongoing development path.
Awesome prizes are planned — we're keeping them a secret for now!
Competitions, trophies, medals
At the end, children participate in Academy competitions where they can win trophies and medals. At the end of the winter season, the Academy Trophy race is held.
Following the competition, trophies, medals, diplomas, and awards are presented during a grand ceremony together with parents!
Training Location
“Harenda” Ski and Recreation Resort
All our classes take place at the Harenda ski resort in Zakopane, adapted for families, featuring gentle slopes. It includes the Penguin Club (children's park), 2 conveyor belt lifts, 3 T-bar lifts, and a chairlift.

Program tailored to participants' needs
Beginner groups
First steps on skis and snowboard at a safe pace — balance, foundational technique, and fun in the snow under the watchful eye of HSKI instructors.
Intermediate groups
Training adapted to skill level through sessions on blue and red slopes, incorporating short and long poles.
Gate training
Race sessions with HSKI Race Team — practice on short and long poles, technical improvement, and competition readiness.
Snowboard training
Snowboard curriculum tailored to each level — from initial side-slipping to confident riding with introductory freestyle elements.

Your child is our absolute priority! Throughout the entire course, children remain under the care of qualified instructors who look after them during ski lessons, breaks, and recreational activities.
HSKI Ski School boasts the most qualified coaching staff for ski instruction. We hold official SITN PZN certifications for teaching children, ensuring our courses are remarkably safe.
Ski equipment
At the Harenda Zakopane Ski Resort, you'll find numerous children's equipment rentals that professionally select gear matching your child's age, height, and ability. The nearest rentals are right beside the HSKI Ski School Office near the T-bar lifts. There is no need to book gear in advance — availability is guaranteed!
We advise renting equipment at least one day before the course starts (Sunday). Rental shop opening hours are 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
We recommend renting gear on site rather than buying, as children outgrow ski equipment very quickly, usually within a single season. Rented equipment will be tailored to your child. You won't have to worry about servicing, waxing, edge tuning, or binding adjustments. Furthermore, brand new kids' gear is far more expensive than renting or buying secondhand.
Lift pass purchase
The course price does not include a lift pass, so we recommend purchasing one at least 1 day before the course starts (Sunday) at the ticket counters of Harenda Ski Resort.
Various time-based pass types are available: hourly, single-day, and multi-day.
We suggest buying a 6-day time pass, which is eligible for a one-time 20% discount. You can claim the discount by presenting proof of payment for the children's course at the Harenda Ski Resort ticket offices.
Questions and Answers
Is my child suitable for the Academy?
The Academy is designed for children aged 4–14 at all skill levels. You don't have to commit to continuous club membership — you decide when and for how many days you enroll your child.
What skill level is my child?
We assess abilities during the first session and form groups according to age and skills: beginner (kids parks, green and blue slopes), intermediate (red slopes, short stubbies), and advanced (black slopes, gate training).
Where do I drop off and pick up my child?
Drop-off and pick-up take place by the HSKI Ski School Office at Harenda Ski Resort — right by the T-bar lifts. Instructors supervise the children throughout the entire session.
Can I rent ski equipment for a child at Harenda Ski Resort? Is it better to rent or buy?
Yes — there are several children's equipment rentals at Harenda, including right next to the HSKI office. We recommend renting instead of buying: gear will be sized appropriately for height and ability, and children quickly outgrow personal gear. It's best to rent equipment at the latest the day before classes (Sunday); rental shops operate from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Who will conduct the classes with the children?
Classes are taught by qualified HSKI instructors holding SITN PZN certifications for teaching children. They care for participants throughout all lessons, breaks, and activities.
What if my child doesn't enjoy the classes? Can they withdraw from the Academy?
We want your child to feel comfortable and happy on the slopes. If anything isn't working, please get in touch with us — together we'll determine the best next steps, whether that means switching groups or withdrawing according to package terms.
How are groups divided during the children's course?
Instruction takes place in groups split by age and ability level — from beginners up to advanced, including gate training.
How many children are in one training group?
Groups have a maximum of 8 participants, allowing the instructor to give attention to every child.
Can parents be present during the course with their child?
We conduct classes in groups with instructors — parents do not participate in on-slope instruction. However, you are welcome to remain in the resort area and pick up your child by the HSKI office after class.
